I think Pastors should see this movie. It may inspire them to stop the cushion preaching and start preaching and teaching the word of God in a way that an average/new Christian can use to defend their faith.
We are taught daily that we need to read our bibles and know our faith unfortunately we are not given the tools on how to on a Sunday morning.
Stop giving us church salad and start feeding us some meat and potato's.
I do not think that digging into our bibles for answers is going to do it. Not when the questions posed are things such as:
What valid historical evidence (other than the bible and church documents) support the existence of Christ?
Do we really believe in such things as the talking snake, flood, Even made from Adam's rib, burning bush, Elijah riding a chariot made of fire, etc?
How do you expalin the fact that the story of Christ shares the same story, teaching, miracles, and themes of other religions. And do not say.. "no it doesnt, thats a lie" And do not say.. "plagiarism by anticipation".
Out of these questions.. how is using the Bible or knowing it better going to help answer these questions?
If someone says to you that they do not beleive your bible and ask you why they should believe it - you can not come back to them and say "Well because the BIBLE says..."
Horizon College & Seminary is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, a beautiful city on the prairies. We are a post secondary theological college, evangelical in orientation. Students are welcome from a diverse background of Christian faith.
As a smaller Christian college, we strive to attain a close community of awareness and care of others.
Our goal is to:
• ‘Touch the Heart’ through spiritual formation and development
• ‘Teach the Mind’ through academic and vocational preparation, and
• ‘Train the Hands’ through practical ministry experience.
